Nintendo’s latest Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King acts as a bit of a refresher for people who might have missed the game back when it appeared on the PlayStation 2. In the over two minute video, we’re introduced to the antagonist, Trodain’s former jester Dhoulmagus, then get to see the hero, Yangus the bandit, King Trode, Jessica the mage, and Angelo the knight. It’s also reminds us how each character sounds, as English voice acting is present in the Nintendo 3DS release.
The remastered form on 3DS will offer new features and content; these extras are confirmed to include two more playable characters, additional side-quests, new story content and an alternative ending.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will come to the Nintendo 3DS in North America and Europe on January 20, 2016
Check out the Trailer:
“We are still over a month away from the release of Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey of the Cursed King on Nintendo 3DS, a remake of the same game from PlayStation 2 which was originally released in 2004 in Japan. The Dragon Quest series has never gathered much attention in Europe and the US, but it is fully comparable to Final Fantasy in Japan and therefore has big budgets, and are generally very well made.”
