A livestream presentation with Dragon Quest Executive Producer Yuu Miyake introduced Dragon Quest fans to a slew of upcoming releases for the franchise. A new mobile title, Dragon Quest Walk was announced, there’s plenty of talk regarding the upcoming Dragon Quest XI Switch release, but perhaps even more exciting was the talk of the next mainline entry in the series.
While we never officially received an announcement of the next DQ title, Miyake did confirm that himself along with series creator Yuji Horii were indeed making preparations for the presumed Dragon Quest XII. There’s not much to go on besides the confirmation that a new title is planned, but it leaves many fans of the series hopeful that we’re eventually set to receive another epic JRPG adventure.
Considering how well-received Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age was and how much more their adding to the Switch version which is set to release this coming fall in the west – the series seems to be in a good place within the modern era of video games.
Stay tuned for more Dragon Quest news as we’re sure to hear more on the upcoming announced titles, though it may be awhile before we hear anything substantial in regards to Dragon Quest XII.
