This might not come as a shock as a ransomware attack exposed Capcom’s release schedule late last year. You can read our Article about it, here.
According to an anonymous leaker Dragon’s Dogma 2 is in development at Capcom and can be expected sometime between 2022 and 2023. While this cannot be verified AestheticGamer aka DuskGolem, a credible leaker behind the RE Village leaks, has also mentioned the title. If that isn’t enough to get you excited these leakers also claim the game will run on the RE Engine. Gamers familiar with Capcom might recognize this engine from other major title’s like Resident Evil Village along with Devil May Cry 5.
As far as the timing is concerned, the timing could not be better. For starters the original game has been ported to every console under the sun. This makes it easy for anybody to pick up and try it out. A new anime based on the original game has also recently released on Netflix. Despite the mixed reviews the series helped returned the game to the public conscious.
Dragon’s Dogma originally released in 2012 with an updated version, Dark Arisen, launching the following year. In the game you played a customizable character known as the Arisen as they exploring Gransys completing quests and fighting monsters in real-time combat. Accompanying the Arisen were customizable characters called Pawns. While the game was single-player each pawn within the game was created by another Arisen. Throughout gameplay the player could use the in game currency build a party of these Pawns.
Upon its release Dragon’s Dogma saw praise for gameplay and story.
