Duelyst Servers To Shut Down on February 27

A sad news for all Duelyst, Counterplay Games along with Bandai Namco announced that Duelyst servers will close on February 27th, 2020 at 3PM PST. The developer will refund players who purchased Diamonds between December 21st, 2019 and January 24th upon request. “All refund request must be received by March 30th, 2020 to be honored.”

Duelyst also reduced the cost on all Diamond Orb purchases in Duelyst by 99%. The price of Diamond Orb Bundles is now like this:

  • 3 Orbs = From 450 to 4 Diamonds
  • 10 Orbs = From 1450 to 14 Diamonds
  • 25 Orbs = From 3500 to 35 Diamonds
  • 50 Orbs = From 6000 to 60 Diamonds

The developers at Counterplay Games shared a letter to fans:

Saying goodbye to any game is never easy, and it’s always hardest when you love the game as much as we all love Duelyst. We’re incredibly proud of the effort our developers have put in on Duelyst over the years, and even more proud of the amazing community of friends and gamers that have enjoyed Duelyst.

We want to thank all of you for being a part of the Duelyst family, and for making our time working on Duelyst the amazing adventure it has been.

We’ve been truly blessed to be part of such an amazing community.

Bandai Namco Entertainment accounts will continue to be active, players who have them, can still use them to future Bandai Namco games.

For those who aren’t familiar with Duelyst, it’s a strategy game, players use cards on a grid to battle other player. Each card will summon creatures on the battlefield. Duelyst is online-only, this means, the game will not be playable after the servers shuts down.

The game was well received for combining the tactical combat and card-based mechanics. But unfortunately, player count has been dropping since its release leading to a server shutdown.
