Dying Light 2: Stay Human Gameplay and Release Date

Following a year of silence, and an abundance of technical woes, Dying light 2 finally has an release date. During the Dying 2 Know Live stream the title saw a revamping to Dying light 2: Stay Human with a release date of December 7th.

If you never played the first game do not worry, the 20 year time jump and new protagonist help to create a fresh start for the world. However, if you would like to experience the first game, A platinum edition of the game has been announced. While it will carry the steep price tag of $100 for the next week it is discounted by 75% on PlayStation and Xbox.

As stated this game will follow new protagonist Aiden Caldwell. Motivated by a mystery in his past he travels to The City, located somewhere in Europe. Just when it appears this place will be the death of him he meets the Nightrunners. Needing Allies Aiden joins forces with them to fight back and survive.

Unlike the previous game which was set in a close off city, this time around you are in a true post apocalyptic wasteland. Set 20 years after the first game it has only been 15 years since the world collapsed. Unlike Kyle Crane, Aiden must choose who to align himself with in this new world.

Among the three factions you will meet in the game are the Survivors, Peacekeepers, and Renegades. Each faction can help you reach your goals in their own way. However since each has their own values it will be impossible to finish the game as a friend to all. Actually, quite the opposite, every choices you make effect the power dynamic in The City. This will also change who is your friends, and enemies.

The game will retain the same core concept of its predecessor. During the day bandits roam the city looking to start fights. But when the night fall’s humans hide away as the zombies become more powerful and prevalent. This brings back safehouses protected by UV lights, as well as the need to parkour yourself to safety. Once again it seems even more powerful mutated enemies lurk in the dark as well, promising that 20 years of mutation has indeed occurred.

Combat looks as fun as it ever has been. Once again the game leans toward swift, full frontal, melee combat. The level up tree returns as well allowing you to choose which play style is right for you.

Techland showcased that despite the setbacks the game has endured they still remember what players loved about the first game. We will have to wait till December though to find out how it all comes together.
