E3 2018: Devil May Cry 5 Announced With a New Trailer

It was announced today during the Microsoft E3 press conference, the new game from the Devil May Cry series, Devil May Cry 5, featuring Nero as the main character.

Check out the Devil May Cry 5 announcement trailer, featuring a cinematic video with some gameplay footage:

This news didn’t come a huge surprise, as Capcom registered the “Devil May Cry 5” domain name earlier this week.

“Devil May Cry 5 appears to be a direct sequel to Devil May Cry 4, and will see the return of franchise protagonists Nero and Dante. It appears that Nero, star of Devil May Cry 4, will be back as a primary playable character.

Game director Hideaki Itsuno will return to direct Devil May Cry 5, promising a return to form for the action franchise.

The original Devil May Cry was released for PlayStation 2 in 2001. The most recent entry in the mainline series was 2008’s Devil May Cry 4, which was followed by developer Ninja Theory’s DmC: Devil May Cry in 2013, an attempted reboot of the franchise that received mixed reactions from fans.
