E3 2018 – Metro Exodus Release Date Announced
A new trailer for Metro Exodus was showcased during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference. Along with providing another look at the upcoming first-person shooter, it confirmed when the game will launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The gameplay demo opened with a man giving a speech about survival, before quickly showing off a variety of weapons and customization options.
As with previous Metro games, there’s plenty of mutated creatures being gunned down, but most importantly it looks like the tense, unsettling atmosphere isn’t lost amongst the bombastic gunplay. Similarly, the ongoing narration highlights that there will be a strong emphasis on storytelling, which is good news for those that have been following Artyom’s journey from the start.
The follow-up to cult hits Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, Exodus maintains the franchises graphical pedigree. Its setting is stunning, filled with tiny environmental details.
The Metro games are notoriously challenging first-person shooters that incorporate horror, stealth and lengthy story sequences that create an uneasy rhythm, unlike their relentlessly fast-paced contemporaries. Exodus will feature a mix of linear and sandbox areas and once again center on Artyom, the hero the Metro trilogy.

“We want everyone to experience the most ambitious Metro game to date at its absolute best. Therefore we’ve moved the release date to Q1 2019,” 4A said. “We know this will be disappointing news for fans, but at E3 we will be revealing lots of new gameplay from a never-before-seen environment.”
The new Metro Exodus trailer showcased a variety of weapons and customization options, as well as more of the game’s desolate setting. It begins with a man giving a speech about survival and shows off some gameplay elements, such as ziplines and the ability to use a lighter to burn up cobwebs and light up rooms.
