EA on Anthem’s Future, “Team is Really Going to Get There with Something Special”

BioWare’s latest fantasy RPG experience, Anthem, hasn’t seen the success the development team was hoping for. The game released to mediocre (at best) reviews with with bland mission design, connectivity problems and an otherwise dull experience at the heart of the issues.

Publisher EA has noted the shortcomings of Anthem since release, and with much-desired news regarding the game becoming scarce, fans who are hoping for vast improvements in the future are beginning to feel left in the cold. EA’s own Andrew Wilson spoke with GameDaily which reiterated the determination the company has on keeping Anthem alive, no matter how bad things may currently seem.

“If we believed that at the very core the world wasn’t compelling people, if we believed at the very core that the characters weren’t compelling for people, or the Javelin suits weren’t compelling, or traversing the world and participating in the world wasn’t compelling then provided we hadn’t made promises to our players… we might not invest further.” – Andrew Wilson, EA CEO

Wilson and EA not only seem to believe in the future of Anthem, but as well as the future in BioWare – which is great news for anyone feeling as though the failed launch of Anthem and 2017’s Mass Effect Andromeda lackluster performance may have triggered some negative juju between the developer and publisher. Wilson then continued to support BioWare and the team behind Anthem, by stating “I feel like that team is really going to get there with something special and something great, because they’ve demonstrated that they can.”

Anthem is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC with plans to expand upon it’s current state for the foreseeable future.
