EA Sports UFC 5 Launches Next Month for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

Electronic Arts has announced the upcoming UFC MMA game, EA Sports UFC 5. The game will launch on October 27 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The standard edition will cost $69.99 and a deluxe edition will cost $99.99. The upcoming game is powered by the Frosbite engine and features “advanced rendering capabilities,” all-new authentic damage system, and more. A reveal trailer was also released.

Nate McDonald, EA SPORTS UFC 5’s Lead Producer commented on the announcement saying:

UFC 5 offers an intensely realistic fighting experience, harnessing Frostbite’s power and technology. From our Real Impact System that helps maximize the power of the generational hardware leap, to the enhanced lighting, detailed characters, strand-based hair and face animation system, every aspect is upgraded. Our collaboration with UFC delivers an unparalleled and authentic MMA interactive experience.”

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski added:

“UFC 5 captures all the sweat, blood and commitment that it takes to be successful in the Octagon. Trust me, the level of immersion that EA SPORTS has recreated with this game is the ultimate representation of the sport.”

The game’s details via EA:

EA Sports UFC 5 is as real as it gets. Powered by Frostbite engine’s advanced rendering capabilities, your favorite fighters now have unparalleled character likenesses to complement next-level environment fidelity that’ll make their walk to the Octagon feel like a pay-per-view main event.

The all-new authentic damage system brings the intensity and strategy of a fight to life, as cuts and strikes absorbed can affect mobility, defense, stamina, and more. Take too much damage, and the doctor will check to see if you’re able to continue.

For lovers of the ground game, the new Transition-Based Submissions make grappling feel more fluid and realistic than ever before. And if you like to admire your handiwork, new Cinematic K.O. Replays capture your fight-ending finishes in all their punishing glory. Plus, a completely revamped live service schedule builds exciting challenges around all pay-per-view fight weeks.

Bring the next evolution of the fight game home with EA Sports UFC 5.
