The parent company of FromSoftware, Kadokawa Corporation has suggested that Elden Ring might face a new delay due to COVID-19.
“In the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022, the Company will aim for operating profit of 14 billion yen”, the report reads. “Considering the uncertainty of possible further serious situation caused by COVID-19, the lower limits of 10 billion yen are forecast.”
The earnings call mentions“delayed development of new works”, the presentation could confirm that Elden Ring will be delayed following the impact of COVID-19 in the video games industry.
Announced during E3 2019, Elden Ring has been in development with secrecy, insiders claims that Bandai Namco will unveil new footage of the game soon, but for the moment, fans can only rewatch the official announcement trailer from 2019.

The highly anticipated game is being created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin, the game is set in an ambitious new world. Xbox’s boss, Phil Spencer affirms to have played “quite a bit” of Elden Ring stating that the game is the most ambitious project from Miyazaki.

Martin to create the Elden Ring mythos has been a genuinely delightful experience and a source of wonderful inspiration”, Miyazaki said upon the game’s announcement. “The team is working hard to ensure that the world of Elden Ring will be a fascinating place for players to explore, filled with peril and wonder from its furthest reaches to its lowest depths. This is a FromSoftware title through and through, rich in fantasy and RPG action. We sincerely hope you look forward to it.”
George R.R. Martin added, “building the world of Elden Ring with Miyazaki-san and his team was a treat! The graphics, mythos, and action-RPG gameplay will deliver an unforgettable experience.”
