The Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC released a few days ago but while the game has quickly become the best rated DLC expansion, the Steam user reviews aren’t reflecting the same. At the time of writing, the DLC currently has a mixed rating based on over 26,000 ratings. Several players gave the expansion a negative rating due to the DLC’s performance on PC, specifically its frame rate drops, stuttering, freezing, and more. Others bash the game for its increased difficulty with some noting that its bosses are too tough and have too many combos with repeated enemies throughout. It’s worth noting the Shadow of the Erdtree has its own new leveling and balancing system based on several new in-game items. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The expansion features “an all-new story set in the Land of Shadow imbued with mystery, perilous dungeons, and new enemies, weapons and equipment.”
