Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed his next project back in this year’s E3, only a few months after the release of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Elden Ring is a brand new IP created by George R.R. Martin and Miyazaki which will push the boundaries for FromSoftware once again with lots of new features and hardcore challenges. Although the only thing we’ve seen so far was just a cinematic trailer at E3 2019, its first gameplay will be shown at Gamescom 2019 for some selected media.
According to Bandai Namco, the publisher behind Elden Ring, there will be a behind-closed-doors showcase for FromSoftware’s next project at Gamescom 2019. Currently, we’ve no clue on when the footage is going to be shared online, but the Japanese publisher might consider PAX West as a place to wrap up the new trailer of Elden Ring, just like Cyberpunk 2077. If it happens, PAX West will be one of the year’s most anticipated events.
Elden Ring is third-person action game like all the titles that are directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. The game will be more similar to Dark Souls than Sekiro and is attempting to bring hardcore challenges in a huge world filled with stories to be found by explorers like you.
Elden Ring has no exact release date yet but it might target 2020 as the year of launch, which makes it possible to consider the game as a cross-gen title.
