Epic Games Store’s Next Free Game is What Remains of Edith Finch

Epic Games Store’s Next Free Game is What Remains of Edith Finch

The Epic Games Store launched last month with clear ambitions to dethrone Steam and become leaders in digital distribution market, their strategy is to offer developers a better deal and treat the players with a free game every two weeks and with Discord sharing Epic’s ambition 2019 might be a great year for all in this kind of Digital Store’s war.

First game to be released for free was Subnautica, Super Meat Boy followed and it still for free, by January 10th What Remains of Edith Finch will be the third game offered from Epic Games Store.

Check this trailer here:

You’d probably have a hard time finding two games that are more different than Super Meat Boy and What Remains of Edith Finch. While the former is a fast-paced, challenging platformer that requires precise timing and skill, What Remains of Edith Finch is a story-rich adventure game that’s fairly low on player interactivity. What Remains of Edith Finch has been lauded for its narrative and atmosphere, so if you’re looking for a good story, it’s definitely worth checking out.

As with Subnautica and Super Meat Boy, the only thing required to claim a free copy of What Remains of Edith Finch is an Epic Games Store account. Once you’ve claimed the game, it’s added to your library forever, with no other strings attached. Epic, of course, hopes that you end up hanging around and buying some games from the Store, as it’s currently trying to unseat Steam from its position of dominance.

Epic Games Store has challenged Valve’s Steam storefront by only taking a 12% cut of game revenue, Discord announced in December 2018 that it would reduce its own revenue cut to 10% this is getting better and will only benefit players so keep it tuned to Gaming Instincts for more updates.
