Everwild

Everwild Gets New Signs of Life in an Instagram Post

Rare’s upcoming title Everwild which was announced back in 2019 has not had many updates for quite some time now. However, Rare recently showed signs that the title still exists. A Holiday Instagram post from Rare showed artwork from the game. The image shows a large tree beneath the sky along with a deer and humanoid figure standing under it. Details on Everwild are sparse but development on the title is reportedly “going well” now after a spotty development cycle.  Everwild is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The message from the developer:

Happy holidays, whoever’s seeing this! Hope you’re closing the year out in style and, as it’s the day of fine gifts and finer food, here’s our offering – a delicious png for you to enjoy! Right, we’re off to eat a Patagotitan’s hypothesised weight in sweets. ‘Til 2025!

Everwild’s details:

Inspired by the beauty of the natural world around us, Everwild is a brand-new game in development from Rare where unique and unforgettable experiences await in a natural and magical world. Play as an Eternal as you explore and build bonds with the world around you.

While Everwild is still early in development, we are very excited about the unique potential of the game we are creating. The Everwild team is focused on building an experience that allows for new ways to play in a natural and magical world. The development team, led by Executive Producer Louise O’Connor, is creating something truly original and incredibly special that aims to be more than just a new IP. Everwild will give you memorable, engaging and meaningful experiences for players everywhere to share. We cannot wait to share more with you in the future.

Having two large games in development represents a tremendous opportunity for Rare and the talented staff here as we grow and further evolve the studio to meet the challenges of simultaneously operating a successful live service and being in pre-production for a new IP. While Everwild and the team building it will get everything they need, we are still fully committed to Sea of Thieves—Joe, Mike, Shelley and the team still have plenty of creative ideas and plans to bring to Sea of Thieves for a long time to come and we have a number of central teams that support both games.
