recently ended and featured a slew of game announcements, trailers, and more. In case you didn’t catch everything, we’ve broken down every major announcement and gameplay reveal that the event had to offer.
Street Fighter 6 Release Date and New Characters
During The Game Awards, Capcom revealed a new trailer for Street Fighter 6 showcasing the World Tour game mode and gameplay for the newly announced characters Dee Jay, Manon, Marisa, and JP. It was also revealed that Street Fighter 6 will launch on June 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders for the game are out now. A second closed beta test for the game will also go live from December 16 to 19.
Diablo IV New Trailer and Release Date
During The recent Game Awards event, Blizzard Entertainment revealed a new trailer announcing that Diablo IV will launch on June 6, 2023. Additionally, Diablo IV will feature cross-platform play and progression on PC, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, plus couch co-op on consoles at launch. The game’s digital pre-order editions & bonuses were also detailed.
and developer Respawn Entertainment released the gameplay reveal trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and announced its March 17, 2023 release date. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
Final Fantasy 16 New Trailer and Release Date
During The Game Awards, Square Enix announced that the upcoming action-RPG, Final Fantasy 16 will launch globally on June 22, 2023. Additionally, producer Naoki Yoshida appeared on stage to introduce the world premiere of a new “REVENGE” trailer.
Horizon Forbidden West “Burning Shores” DLC
Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Guerrilla Games revealed a new trailer announcing the “Burning Shores” DLC for Horizon Forbidden West. The DLC will launch on April 19, 2023 for PlayStation 5.
Hades II
Supergiant Games revealed a new trailer announcing the roguelike action game sequel to Hades, Hades II. It will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in 2023.
Dead Cells x Castlevania Crossover DLC
During The Game Awards, developer Motion Twin announced a new Dead Cells x Castlevania Crossover DLC for Dead Cells titled Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania. Players will be able to explore Dracula’s castle and more. It will launch early 2023 for PC and consoles.
Scars Above
During the event, publisher Prime Matter announced Scars Above – a challenging sci-fi third-person action-adventure shooter. Players are put into “the space-boots of astronaut and scientist Dr. Kate Ward, who is sent to explore a colossal and enigmatic alien structure, the Metahedron, which suddenly appeared in the Earth’s orbit.” The game will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Feb. 28, 2023.
Post Trauma
Raw Fury announced Post Trauma, an original horror experience with fixed camera angles and modern visuals inspired by the retro classics of the genre. The game follows Roman, “a middle-aged man who awakens in a strange and hostile place and must find a way back home to his family.” A release date was not announced but it is in development for PC and consoles.
After Us
Private Division announced After Us, a riveting exploration adventure game set to launch in Spring 2023 for PC on Steam, and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players “take on the role of Gaia, the Spirit of Life, as she must jump, glide, dash, wallride, and swim to evade deadly obstacles and enemies.”
Atomic Heart Trailer
Focus Entertainment and Mundfish revealed a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming action RPG Atomic Heart. The game launches February 21 to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. The game can be pre-ordered now.
REPLACED
Coatsink and Sad Cat Studios revealed a new trailer showcasing more gameplay for the upcoming dystopian cyberpunk game REPLACED. The game is planned for release in 2023 and will be available to play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass for PC, Steam & Epic Games Store.
Judas
Ghost Story Games announced Judas, an all-new single-player, narrative first-person shooter is in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Batman Trailer
Warner Bros. Games and DC released a new cinematic trailer for Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League revealing a first look at Batman as one of the corrupted Justice League members in the game, and closes with a tribute to Kevin Conroy. The game’s release date of May 26, 2023 was also released. The game will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Dune Awakening
Funcom revealed a new trailer showing pre-alpha footage for the upcoming Open World Survival MMO inspired by the Dune series, Dune Awakening. In Dune: Awakening “you strive to survive the countless dangers of Arrakis alongside thousands of other players.”
Forspoken Demo
Square Enix and Luminous Productions revealed a new trailer for their upcoming title Forspoken and announced the immediate release of a free PlayStation 5 demo.
Immortals of Aveum
Ascendant Studios announced Immortals of Aveum, a new single-player, first-person magic shooter via a teaser trailer. The game is “set in an original fantasy universe engulfed in magic, rife with conflict, and on the verge of oblivion.” It will release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2023.
TEKKEN 8 Gameplay Trailer
Bandai Namco released the first story and gameplay trailer for TEKKEN 8. The trailer highlights stunning visuals, amazingly detailed character models, atmospheric and destructive environments, and an aggressive new gameplay mechanic. The game will launch PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Nightingale Trailer
Inflexion Games revealed a new trailer for the survival-crafting game, Nightingale. Nightingale is currently in development for Early Access PC release in 2023.
Remnant II
During the event, Gearbox Publishing and Gunfire Games announced Remnant II, the sequel to the best-selling game Remnant: From the Ashes, a third-person action-survival shooter that “pits the last remnants of humanity against the harrowing forces of evil.” Remnant II will launch for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2023.
Behemoth
Publisher Skydance Interactive released the first full-length trailer for Behemoth, a brand-new VR Action RPG. The cinematic trailer showcases “Behemoth’s brutal yet tactical VR combat and breathtaking traversal gameplay as players conquer monolithic beings in a grim, unforgiving world.” The game will launch on Meta Quest 2, PSVR2 and PCVR.
Blue Protocol
Amazon Games and Bandai Namco Online Inc. announced that they are bringing Blue Protocol, a multiplayer online action role-playing game featuring anime-inspired art, to North America, Europe, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. Blue Protocol will be free-to-play, and will launch for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 in the second half of 2023.
TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE
Splash Damage announced TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE, a 1-4 player online action game via a cinematic trailer. The game will launch for PC & Consoles and will “offer players an opportunity to explore a fresh, new story within the TRANSFORMERS universe.”
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Raid
Activision revealed the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Raid Episode 01: Atomgrad, via a new trailer. It will launch on December 14.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
FOCUS ENTERTAINMENT and DON’T NOD released a trailer revealing Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. In the game, players will “experience a powerful and intimate narrative in this Action-RPG, playing as two proficient ghost hunters and lovers, faced with impossible choices and their dramatic consequences for the living… and the dead.” Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will be released end of 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive revealed a new gameplay reveal trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will launch in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
WILD HEARTS “Ferocious Creatures” Trailer
EA Originals & KOEI TECMO revealed a new “Ferocious Creatures” trailer for WILD HEARTS, “offering hunters a closer look at some of the largest Kemono they’ll face in battle.” The game launches on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 17, 2023.
Crime Boss: Rockay City Release Date
Developer INGAME STUDIOS and publisher 505 Games announced that Crime Boss: Rockay City comes exclusively to PC on Epic Games Store beginning Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Console versions will launch later in 2023.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Trailer
CD PROJEKT RED revealed a brand new teaser trailer for Phantom Liberty, the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 spy-thriller expansion. The teaser features all new in-game and gameplay footage, and the reveal of a new cast member played by Idris Elba.
The Lords of the Fallen Gameplay Reveal Trailer
Developer HEXWORKS revealed the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming action-RPG, The Lords of the Fallen. The reboot to the 2014 hit, Lords of the Fallen, will launch for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S next year.
Wayfinder
Digital Extremes and Airship Syndicate revealed Wayfinder, a new character-based, online action RPG. The game will launch for PC and consoles in 2023. In the game, players must “control the chaos and reconnect a fractured world as they choose a unique path through an online world of endless action and adventure.”
Crash Team Rumble
Publisher Activision and developer Toys for Bob announced the four-versus-four team-based online multiplayer game Crash Team Rumble. The game will launch in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Baldur’s Gate III Release Date
Developer Larian Studios announced that Baldur’s Gate III will leave Early Access and launch in August 2023 for PC via Steam and GOG. A new trailer was also released alongside details for the Collector’s Edition.
Colossal Cave
Developer Cygnus Entertainment announced that Colossal Cave will launch on January 19, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, Humble Store, Itch.io, and Amazon, and Quest 2. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will follow in Q1 2023.
Earthblade
Extremely OK Games released the reveal trailer for “explor-action platformer” Earthblade. It will launch for PC via Steam in 2024.
The Last of Us Part I PC Release Date
Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Naughty Dog released a new trailer announcing that the PC version of The Last of Us Part I will launch on March 3, 2023 via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza
Nintendo and developer PlatinumGames announced the action adventure game Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. It will launch on March 17, 2023 for Nintendo Switch.
Destiny 2: Lightfall
At The Game Awards 2022, Bungie released the latest trailer for their upcoming expansion, Destiny 2: Lightfall, launching on February 28, 2023. The gameplay trailer showcases the brand-new subclass Strand, the neon-lit Neptunian metropolis Neomuna, and more.
Meet Your Maker Release Date
Behaviour Interactive revealed a new trailer announcing the official release date of its upcoming new IP Meet Your Maker. The game will launch on April 4, 2023 on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Company of Heroes 3
Relic Entertainment and SEGA Europe announce that Company of Heroes 3 is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2023.
Returnal PC Release
Sony and developer Housemarque announced that Returnal will release for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in early 2023.The game first launched on April 30 for PlayStation 5 2021.
Hellboy: Web of Wyrd
Publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment and developer Upstream Arcade announced the action adventure roguelite Hellboy: Web of Wyrd. It will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. A release date was not announced.
Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass
Nintendo and developer Intelligent Systems announced the Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass, which will include for waves of DLC. The first will launch on January 20, 2023, followed by the second through fourth waves which will launch by the end of 2023. A new trailer for the expansion pass was also released.
Viewfinder
At The Game Awards, publisher Thunderful Games and developer Sad Owl Studios announced a first-person puzzle adventure game titled Viewfinder. It will launch sometime in 2023 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
