During yesterday’s Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom revealed a new gameplay trailer featuring new enemies and areas of the village.
Resident Evil Village will launch on May 7 but all players are invited to a 60 minutes limited time demo for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Steam, and Google Stadia.
PlayStation players will have two early access opportunities, Capcom will release exclusives demos for the platforms. Players have an 8-hour window to play 30 minutes for each section. The first date will offer the village portion starting April 18 with a pre-load option starting April 16. Later on, on April 25 players can try the castle area of the game with a pre-load option also starting April 16.
As part of the 25th anniversary of the franchise, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil 4 will release later this year on Oculus Quest 2. More information about the VR game will be revealed at the upcoming Oculus Gaming Showcase.
Capcom also announced the collaboration with Behaviour Interactive for a Dead by Daylight. RE characters will arrive later this year for the asymmetrical multiplayer game, the teaser trailer features an unknown character hanging from a meat hook, the trailer shows the Umbrella Corp logo falling to the ground as the victim is taken by the Entity.
Behaviour Interactive will reveal more information on May 25th, which marks the 5th anniversary of “Dead by Daylight.” The developers will be streaming on Twitch for what may be a reveal or presentation for the upcoming characters.
After the show ended, Capcon confirmed the output resolution and the framerate of all console versions. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the game will run at 4K resolution, 45 FPS with ray tracing. The Xbox Series S version will run at 1440p, 45 FPS without ray tracing, 1440p, 30 FPS with ray tracing.
