The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase recently ended and featured a slew of game announcements, trailers, and more. In case you didn’t catch everything, we’ve broken down every major and minor announcement and gameplay reveal that the event had to offer.
Starfield Gameplay Reveal
During the recent Xbox Games Showcase event, Bethesda released a 15-minute gameplay video of its upcoming space exploration RPG, Starfield. The video showcased planet exploration, ship customization and piloting, outpost building, advanced RPG and character creation systems, and more. Starfield will launch for Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2023. It will also be available via Xbox Game Pass.
Diablo IV Gameplay Reveal
Blizzard Entertainment announced that the upcoming mainline installment in the Diablo series, Diablo IV, will launch in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Additionally, the publisher revealed the final class, the Necromancer, and announced that the game would feature cross-play and cross-progression for all platforms. A new trailer and gameplay showcase video was also revealed.
Overwatch 2 Release Date
Blizzard Entertainment announced that it’s upcoming free-to-play FPS Overwatch 2 will launch in Early Access on October 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Additionally, the Overwatch 2 Reveal Event Livestream on YouTube and Twitch will go live on June 16 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET.
Riot Games Gamepass
During the Livestream, Microsoft announced that it has partnered with Riot Games to bring Riot Games bonuses to Xbox Game Pass subscribers this winter, including bonuses across titles like League of Legends (PC), League of Legends: Wild Rift (Mobile), Legends of Runeterra (PC & Mobile), Teamfight Tactics (PC & Mobile), and Valorant (PC).
Redfall Gameplay Reveal
During the Xbox Games Showcase livestream, publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer Arkane Studios Austin released a gameplay reveal trailer for the upcoming open-world co-op FPS Redfall. The game takes place in Redfall, Massachusetts, plagued by vampires. Players control a handful of survivors to face off against vampires, explore the game’s open world, and play through a deep story campaign. Redfall will launch in early 2023 for Xbox Series and PC via Steam.
A Plague Tale: Requiem Trailer
Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Asobo Studio released a new “End of Innocence” trailer for the upcoming action adventure game and sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, A Plague Tale: Requiem. The game will launch sometime in 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch (cloud), and PC via Steam.
Ara: History Untold
Xbox Game Studios and developer Oxide Interactive announced an upcoming turn-based strategy game Ara: History Untold. A release date was not announced, but the game will launch on PC and is expected to release by June 2023. The game will also be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
ARK II Trailer
Developer Studio Wildcard announced that ARK II will launch in 2023 for Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam. It will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
As Dusk Falls Trailer
Xbox Game Studios and developer INTERIOR/NIGHT announced that the upcoming Interactive narrative game As Dusk Falls will launch on July 19 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. It will also be available for free to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
COCOON Announcement Trailer
Annapurna Interactive and developer Geometric Interactive announced a new puzzle adventure game From Jeppe Carlsen, the lead gameplay designer of LIMBO and INSIDE, titled COCOON. The game will launch in 2023 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam. It will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
The Elder Scrolls Online High RIse Expansion
Bethesda released a trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online’s upcoming High Rise expansion. The expansion will launch on June 21.
Ereban: Shadow Legacy
Raw Fury and developer Baby Robot Games announced Ereban: Shadow Legacy, a new stealth platformer for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. It will launch in 2023. The game will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Fallout 76 Expansion
Bethesda revealed a new trailer for Fallout 76’s upcoming The Pitt expansion. It will launch in September.
Microsoft Flight Simulator Update
Xbox Game Studios and developer Asobo Studios revealed a new trailer announcing the 40th Anniversary Edition update for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It will launch in November.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Gameplay
Publisher Kepler Interactive and developer A44 Games announced that the upcoming action RPG Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn has been delayed from its previously planned 2022 release window to early 2023. A new gameplay trailer was also revealed. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels
Xbox Game Studios and developer Playground Games have announced the “Hot Wheels” expansion for Forza Horizon 5. The update will launch on July 19.
Forza Motorsport
Xbox Game Studios and developer Turn 10 Studios released a new trailer announcing the new installment in the Forza Motorsport series, simply titled Forza Motorsport, which will launch in spring 2023 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Grounded Full Release
Xbox Game Studios and Obsidian Entertainment announced that the multiplayer survival game Grounded will leave Early Access in September. The game will launch for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.
Gunfire Reborn Trailer
Publisher 505 Games and developer Duoyi Network announced that the co-op first-person shooter Gunfire Reborn will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers in October.
HIGH ON LIFE Announced
Squanch Games announced HIGH ON LIFE, a new first-person shooter from the creators of Rick and Morty. The game will launch in October for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Trailer
Developer Team Cherry announced that Hollow Knight: Silksong, the upcoming sequel to Hollow Knight, will launch for Xbox Series X/S. The game will also be released for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, GOG, and Humble Store. A release date was not announced, but the game is expected to launch by June 2023.
The Last Case of Benedict Fox Announced
Publisher Rogue Games and developer Plot Twist announced The Last Case of Benedict Fox, a new Metroidvania platformer that will launch in spring 2023 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam Epic Games Store. The game will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Lightyear Frontier Announced
Publisher Amplifier Game Invest and developer FRAME BREAK announced Lightyear Frontier, an upcoming farming adventure game. It will launch in spring 2023 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The game will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Minecraft Legends Announced
Xbox Game Studios revealed a trailer announcing Minecraft Legends, a new action strategy game that will launch in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. The game will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Naraka: Bladepoint Xbox Release
Publisher NetEase Games and developer 24 Entertainment that the action battle royale game Naraka: Bladepoint will launch on June 23 for Xbox Series X/S. The game will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Pentiment Announced
Xbox Game Studios and developer Obsidian Entertainment have announced Pentiment, a historical mystery role-playing game that will launch in November for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. The game will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable Xbox Release
ATLUS announced that it will release Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Microsoft Store. Persona 5 Royal will launch on October 21, and Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable will launch sometime in 2023. All three titles will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Additionally, Atlus announced that the games will also launch for PS5 and Steam.
Sea of Thieves Season Seven: Captaincy
Publisher Microsoft and developer Rare released a new trailer for the upcoming “Season Seven: Captaincy” update for Sea of Thieves.
Scorn Release Date
Developer Ebb Software released a new trailer announcing the October 21 release date for the atmospheric first-person horror adventure game Scorn. The game will launch for Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam. It will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Announced
Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Team NINJA announced Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, an upcoming dark fantasy action game from Masaaki Yamagiwa, the producer of Bloodborne, and Fumihiko Yasuda, the producer of Nioh. Players take control of “a nameless militia soldier in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms.” The game will launch in early 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. The game will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
New Kojima Cloud Game
Microsoft announced a partnership between Xbox Game Studios and Kojima Productions “to create a video game for Xbox like no one has ever experienced or seen before leveraging the power of the cloud.”
