New Expansion for Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Coming Soon
Perfect World Entertainment Inc., a leading publisher of free-to-play MMORPGs, and Cryptic Studios announced today the newest expansion for Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter, Storm King’s Thunder. In the tenth expansion for the free-to-play Dungeons & Dragons-based MMORPG, adventurers will experience a unique story about the rise of giants, based on the upcoming storyline from Wizards of the Coast. This expansion will be available for PC in August 2016 with content coming to Xbox One and PlayStation®4 at a later date.

Similar to the Storm King’s Thunder adventure coming from Dungeons & Dragons later this year, Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder sees giants invade the world of Neverwinter. Adventurers will travel north to Bryn Shander – the heart of the Ten Towns – to investigate the sudden presence of frost giants in the region. Expansion content will bring players through three new adventure zones as they team up with popular characters from Dungeons & Dragons lore, including Catti-brie, Wulfgar and Harshnag.
“The yearly updates from Dungeons & Dragons provide us with a huge opportunity to build unique stories in Neverwinter,” said Rob Overmeyer, executive producer ofNeverwinter. “We’ve been discussing the idea of giants returning to the Sword Coast with the team at Wizards of the Coast for quite some time. Adventurers will have several large changes coming their way when we launch Storm King’s Thunder on PC later this year.”
High-level adventurers can experience a new campaign that will guide them through the new adventure zones and story content of Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder. In addition to the story content, the newest expansion will also introduce a new tier of dungeon and additional high level equipment for adventurers looking to gather the latest gear for their characters.
Neverwinter is a free-to-play action MMORPG that features fast-paced combat and epic dungeons. Players explore the vast city of Neverwinter and its surrounding countryside, learning the vivid history of the iconic city in the Forgotten Realms and battling its many enemies. Neverwinter is currently available on PC and is free to play digitally on Xbox One with Gold from the Xbox Games Store. The game will also be available on PlayStation®4 for all users in summer 2016.
