Indie game publisher Versus Evil and Brazilian game studio BitCake, today announced that their fast paced multiplayer shooter Holodrive, currently in Early Access, is officially launching today on STEAM as a free to play game.
To celebrate the move to free to play, the BitCake team is also launching their new game mode, Cocoball, which combines basketball and pinball gameplay – not with a ball, but a rather unlikely object… a chicken!
Holodrive matches up to 8 players online as they battle it out across 4 different game modes to take the top spot on the leaderboards.
About the game:
In Holodrive, players customize their character with a cool outfit, equip their weapon of choice plus a jet pack and then jump into battle in one of the many arenas. Fast gameplay is accentuated with the use of ramps and strategically placed power ups that can turn the tide of battle with an element of surprise at any time. Players can carry up to 7 weapons at the same time and they can expand their weapon and outfit collection by opening Holopacks that grant random items, some of which are super rare. They can also ‘dematerialize’ duplicate items and weapons and craft them into other customizations they don’t already have. Each player can also show off their own individual style with deep character customization clothing items.
Check out the Trailer:
When Holocorp created the ‘Dummys’ their main purpose was to be companion robots – mans new best friend. No one could predict these robots would turn out to be obsessed with blowing each other up… in style! Now, dressed to impress and equipped with a vast arsenal of guns and an unhealthy dose of unpredictable power-ups, they compete in special arenas to see who’s best. What could go wrong?
