While Sekiro comes off as a Souls/borne clone, the changes made in the upcoming title’s gameplay becomes much more apparent after viewing the trailer. Players play as a singular shinobi rather than creating their own class of warrior. The RPG elements of acquiring new skills doesn’t come at the hands of leveling up, but in upgrading your unique prosthetic arm with an array of trinkets and secondary weapons. Players also won’t discover a plethora of different primary weapon types as The Wolf conquers his foes with his coveted katana.
Perhaps the most unique tactic making its way into Sekiro is the resurrection technique. A limited-use skill which allows players to strategically come back from the dead in hopes of pouncing on the enemy from more tactical stance.
Sekiro:Shadows Die Twice is set to release later this week on March 22, 2019 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
