Fight Night Round 4
will have its servers permanently shut down on March 9, 2020 after ten years of service.
The shutdown will also affect some of the game’s achievements, which are listed below:
Players who wish to unlock these achievements only have a few more months to do so before Fight Night Round 4 receives its final bout.
When announcing the shutdown, EA cited dwindling player population as the reason behind it. However, players interested in playing the game’s offline modes will still have access to them.
Fight Night Round 4 is a boxing simulator developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was released in 2009 and features Physics based controls, Legacy Mode, and increased focus on counterattacks. The game includes 12 arenas, including Boardwalk Hall and the MGM Grand.
The overarching Fight Night franchise launched in 2004 with the debut of Fight Night 2004 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The series has received mostly positive reviews from critics, but has maintained a presence in the gaming industry through the loyalty of a niche group of dedicated fans who have been playing Fight Night Round 4 since its inception in 2009.
As of yet, the Fight Night franchise has not received an announcement regarding an additional installment, as EA has focused largely on its other sports series, such as Madden and UFC.
