During Microsoft’s Inside Xbox: X018, it was announced that a number of Final Fantasy Games would be arriving to the Xbox One, starting with Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and LIGHTNING RETURNS: Final Fantasy XIII will be entirely new to the Backwards compatibility catalog starting next week. The Xbox One backward compatibility catalog continues to Grow as today was revealed that on November 13th, four, new backward Compatible titles will be getting enhanced for Xbox One X.
Alongside this news, Square-Enix revealed that a number of Final Fantasy games are hitting the Xbox One next year. The games that are included in the collection are World of Final Fantasy Maxima, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy X-X-2 remaster, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition.
This Compilation of titles were initially announced during a Nintendo Direct for release on the Nintendo Switch platform, however with the reveal of this compilation of Final Fantasy titles for Xbox One, it is safe to announce that we can expect a PlayStation 4 version of this compilation as well.
The compilation of Final Fantasy is expected to arrive sometime in 2019 while the trilogy of Final Fantasy XIII compatibility update should be available now for Xbox One.
Final Fantasy XIII
is a science fiction role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles and later for the Microsoft Windows operating system. Originally released in Japan in December 2009 and worldwide in March 2010, it is the thirteenth title in the mainline Final Fantasy series.
The game features a fast-paced combat, a new system for the series for determining which abilities are developed for the characters called “Crystarium”, and a customizable “Paradigm” system to control which abilities are used by the characters. Final Fantasy XIII includes elements from the previous games in the series, such as summoned monsters, chocobos, and airships.
