Square Enix today released more information from the highly expected Final Fantasy VII Remake, aeons, skill moves, battle mechanics and a new character has been revealed.
Tifa Lockhart a brave member of the anti-Shinra group Avalanche is a powerful warrior, she relies on his speed to defeat enemies with her fist and feet. She is confirmed to be a swift fighter, players will have to repeatedly press the square button to perform quick combos. After a combo, she can use a powerful ability with the press of the Triangle button, attacking enemies will fill your ATB bar. When it is full, you can use it to launch a special ability.
Square Enix revealed more information about side quests, this are refereed as Mercernary Quest, citizens and merchants across Midgar will ask Cloud for help. Cloud can help them with these quests, which could be anything from taking down some troublesome monsters to helping find lost cats (really).
Battle Report are a different kind of side quests, this will work very similar to Mercenary Quest, Cloud will have to help some characters, for example Chadley, he is a 15 year-old research trainee who works under Professor Hojo.
Chadley is found in the Sector 7 slums, where he researches new types of Materia, Cloud can help him, as exchange he’ll develop and sell Materia for the team. Chadley will request that players complete various requirements, such as using Assess Materia a certain number of times, or defeating enemies in a specific way. Complete these tasks, and he’ll develop more Materia that you can purchase.
Square Enix also announced a three new summons will be available only for pre-order owners, summons are powerful beast that can be called by a specific character in the party and will greatly boost the party’s ability to destroy powerful enemies. The new creatures are Chocobo Chick, Carbuncle and Cactuar.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will release for the PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020. It’ll be a PS4 exclusive through April 2021.
