continues to impress and continues to bring new users to the platform. Earlier this summer Square Enix added the Shadowbringers DLC to the series to critical acclaim. The MMORPG is going strong after game went through a rehaul back in 2013 called “A Realm Reborn”. Some have made the argument that XIV is the best MMORPG available across any platform. What set this Final Fantasy apart is the amount of work Square Enix has put in with the patches. The 2.0 chapter of the game was meant to fix issues and ended up being the foundation for all the additional content Square Enix has added since.
With 3.0 Square Enix brought us Heavensward which added a ton of content to an already packed game. Stormblood came after Heavensward in 4.0, naturally adding more classes, dungeons, and raids. 4.0 would also add a brand new level cap of 70. Two years after the release of Stormblood, users would get yet another packed expansion in Shadowbringers. The expansion would add the usual, a few jobs, a new level cap of 80. Naturally, this is the expansion we’re currently in and over the weekend Square announced that Final Fantasy XIV would have a crossover with the critically acclaimed hit Nier: Automata. You can check out the trailer here, but with all the influence and additions coming to Final Fantasy XIV, this should be worth it just like the other expansions.
I can’t pretend I’m a pro at MMORPGs, but I’ve been eyeing Final Fantasy XIV for a few years especially after Shadowbringer was announced. Do you enjoy XIV, how do you feel about the Nier: Automata crossover? Is 2B the best waifu? Lastly help a noob like me get into Final Fantasy XIV, the systems and gameplay loop incredible just not sure I have the time for it. Anyway let me know what you think and make sure you follow Gaming Instincts on Facebook and Twitter.
