Square Enix revealed today that in celebration for the second anniversary of Final Fantasy XV, there will be new DLC coming next year. First of all, Episode Ardyn, a collaboration event with Final Fantasy XIV Online and a new standalone edition of Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades.
Episode Ardyn will be released on March 2019 and will allow you to play with the main antagonist Ardyn Izunia. The story will focus before the events of FFXV, now we will learn more about Ardyn’s backstory in a story of death and restoration. Also Square will release a special anime episode titled, Final Fantasy XV Episode Ardyn – Prologue.

On December 12 at 5pm Pacific Standard Time there will be a special Final Fantasy XIV Online collaboration event available for free. This new event introduces a new in-game quest titled “Adventurer from Another World.” This time Noctis will go on a journey with the mysterious Miqo’te, Y’jhimei to Perpetouss Keep, which concludes with a fierce battle against the primal Garuda from FFXIV, if you complete the quest you will receive some FFXIV themed costumes as a reward.

and last but not least a new standalone edition of Final Fantasy XV: Comrades for PS4 and Xbox One users will come out this December 12, player will be able to participate in hunt, guard and convoy quests in co-op gameplay with up to four other players. There will be 10 new bosses for players to conquer.

Finally, the previously announced DLC episodes featuring the characters Aranea, Lunafreya and Noctis, will no longer be produced. The FINAL FANTASY XV journey will conclude next year with the release of EPISODE ARDYN. The FINAL FANTASY XV development team wish to thank all players who have taken this journey with them and will celebrate the experience with fans to the end.
