Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 Delayed

Epic Games has announced thatFortnite

is extending the Chapter 2 – Season 2, beyond the original April 30 date. Epic Games is planning to launch Chapter 2 – Season 3 on June 4. The Fortnite Team did not reveal the cause of the delay, but it’s fair to assume that the reason behind the delay is COVID-19 and the remote work policy. However, the development team promises surprises and new features for the upcoming seasons.

There’s lots of content coming in the current Season. We have multiple game updates on the way that will deliver fresh gameplay, new Challenges, bonus XP, and a couple more surprises up our sleeve!

Chapter 2- Season 2 launched back in February, it brought a major overhaul of the game, aspects like better implementation of challenges and rewards kept happy the community of fans.

 

COVID-19 has been catastrophic for the economy, employers have been forced to send their workforce in self isolation in order to keep them healthy, the gaming industry has been affected in a year that was ready to be memorable, with the rise of a new generation of consoles, and the remake of PS1 classics like Final Fantasy VII Remake and Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Mojang’s Minecraft Dungeons, Cradle Games’ Hellpoint and Amazon Games’ New World have been delayed, all the announcements shared a similar cause, COVID-19 and logistic problems that make development impossible at the moment. The worst case is Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II, which was indefinitely delayed due to COVID- 19. Naughty Dog pointed at logistics obstacles that makes development very difficult at this moment.

Cyberpunk 2077 was delayed in early 2020, the reasons behind CD Projekt Red’s decision is unrelated to COVID-19, the game was originally scheduled for a release in April, but the development team needed more time to polish the game. Cyberpunk 2077 is now launching on September 17, however, another delay is expected.
