is set to receive a new update when it releases chapter 2 season 7 on June 8th. As part of this update, Epic Games has announced that the game will be getting a significant overhaul to graphics. This will be across multiple systems as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will also see major improvements.

The “Epic” quality preset setting will feature better storm clouds. There will also be modifications to smoke, liquid, lakes, and fire effects for when you just gotta burn something down. Players can also expect improved post-processing features for lens flare, bloom, and shadow quality.
Epic has stated that the “High” quality will be equivalent to what the pre-update “Epic” setting ran at.
Here are the specs for what the “Epic” quality setting will require:
However, thankfully the recommended setting will remain the same:
If you are running the game on a lower-end PC, medium, low, and performance rendering mode alpha also remain the same:
The recommended GPU will become Nvidia GTX 960, AMD R9 280, or equivalent DX11 GPU with epic changing the recommended OS to Windows 10 64-bit. Players still using Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 8 64-bit can still run Fortnite fine.
