A Fortnite developer has revealed that Epic Games is working on a ‘respawn mechanic’ very similar of what has been implemented by Apex Legends.
It’s no surprise when we say that Apex Legends has taken the Battle Royale genre by storm and Epic Games’ Fortnite is already losing a lot of revenue.
Apex Legends promised a revolution in the way players knew Battle Royale games and one of the introductions made in the genre was the ability to go back into the action after meeting some criteria.
“We’ve been considering this mechanic for a while and have been exploring it. Want to make sure we give it the time it needs and fully understand its impact on the game as a whole. Look for further updates during Fortnite Season 8.”
If you’ve played Apex Legends recently, then you’ll probably already know that there is a respawn system already in place. Interesting. In AL, players can collect tags from their fallen teammates before delivering them to a respawn point so they can jump back into the game.
Another one of the features in Apex Legends that players can’t get enough of is the next level communication that is included in the game. The ping system may not be a completely new idea but Apex has done it very well indeed.
While the respawn ability might work Epic Games is also hosting the biggest event that the gaming world has ever seen, with a prize pool of $100 Million.
