Wade Callender has filed a lawsuit against his personal friend Randy Pitchford for taking a secret $12 million bonus from Take-Two, Callender also accuses Pitchford for unethical treatment of his employees, allegedly ‘by exploiting Gearbox employees and property to fund private cravings.’
A month ago it was Randy Pitchford who sued Callender for using the company’s money for its personal interest.
Pitchford is described in the suit as ‘a manipulative and morally bankrupt CEO who shamefully exploited his oldest friend, a Texas attorney and military veteran named Wade Callender.’
The filing is in response to Gearbox suing Callender about a month before, where the developer states that the former lawyer borrowed money from Gearbox for a home loan and tuition that he failed to pay back in full. It further added that Callender ‘abused the privilege of credit card access by charging unapproved, wholly personal expenses, including family vacations, gun club memberships and firearms accessories, and trying to get six-pack abs.’
Wade Callender has responded with a more serious matter, he claims that he found out a USB drive of Randy Pitchford’s property containing a collection of “underage” pornography. Wade Callender adds that his former friend hosted parties where ‘adult men have reportedly exposed themselves to minors, to the amusement of Randy Pitchford.’
Wade Callender claims that the USB drive was left behind in a restaurant in Texas by Pitchford and he asked Gearbox employees to retrieve it, according with Callender he asked his staff to make a copy to send it to Pitchford who where at San Francisco at the time. Allegedly Randy Pitchford when knowing that his drive had been copied he sent an order to destroy all duplicates.
Randy Pitchford came out to speak about what happened with the USB drive, he explain that a restaurant employee found it and took it home, Pitchford says there was pornography of a 18 year old girl and lots of sensitive information about Gearbox and its future games in development.
