With PAX East starting in less than 24 hours, Gearbox Software is still adamantly teasing what looks to be a Borderlands related game. With a flurry of images revealed via Twitter over the course of the last week, today they shared a new teaser trailer that screams a third entry to the series.
You can check out the teaser trailer ‘Mask of Mayhem’ below:
The new trailer comes directly before their PAX East panel which starts tomorrow March 28, 2019. While they are clearly referencing something new coming to the beloved loot ‘n’ shooter universe – either Borderlands 3 or possibly a remaster of the original (or both) – Gearbox has also teased what looks to be a different game altogether.
Regardless, the new trailer above does seem to show off the trademark character models that fit the style of the Borderlands universe. And if that wasn’t a dead giveaway, the mask formed at the end clearly belongs to the psycho bandits found in the game.
We’ll know more after tomorrow’s PAX East panel with Gearbox and we’ll be sure to provide updates as soon as we hear more from the studio.
