Gears of War 4 playable at SDCC 2016

Microsoft have just announced that Gears of War 4 will be playable an San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.

In addition, the company also released two new trailers. The first is a 7 minute gameplay trailer along while the other takes a look at the Gears of War 4 Xbox One S Bundle.

Interestingly, they are joined by Marcus Fenix, though it is unclear if the hero from the original trilogy is playable. Developer The Coalition has only confirmed JD, Del, and Kait as playable thus far.

Marcus was first shown in the Gears of War 4 announcement trailer earlier this year as JD flashbacked to his childhood. The elder Fenix then made an appearance at the end of the E3 2016 co-op gameplay demonstration, shared by Xbox on YouTube, where he welcomed JD home. How big a role the character will play in this new edition of the long-running franchise is up for debate.

Gears of War 4 Limited Edition 2TB Xbox One S Bundle, which will launch alongside the game on October 11.

Check out the Trailers:

“A Gears of War 4 panel will be held at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 21 from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. PT, where the developers and voice actors will present a behind the scenes look at the game. Read up on all of Gears of War 4‘s San Diego Comic-Con plans at Xbox Wire.”
