MiHoYo, the development studio behind Genshin Impact has recently posted an update on the game’s official forums where it’s explained the future roadmap of the new MMO F2P game.
Starting on November 11, the Unreconciled Starts event will go live at Genshin Impact Version 1.1, an upcoming Version 1.2 will arrive on December 23 and will feature a new area called Dragonspire, the new location will feature its own unique event. Version 1.3 will launch in February 2021 and will add the Lantern Rite event.
According to MiHoYo, the development team is confident to roll out a new version of the game every six weeks on Wednesday, those update will add new activities and events that will reward participants with new items and experiences. Genshin Impact will add cultural events matching real-world calendar events, confirmed events are Ludi Harpastum and the Windbloom Festival in Mondstadt, as well as the Lantern Rite and Moonchase Festival in Liyue.
We are always experimenting with different optimization methods to bring you better content, and even now, the development of multiple versions is proceeding simultaneously to ensure that content will continue to roll out in a stable manner. In future versions, we will combine the unique cultural and calendarial features of in- game regions with dates in the real world to host unique events in Mondstadt and Liyue. (e.g. Ludi Harpastum and the Windbloom Festival in Mondstadt, or Lantern Rite and the Moonchase Festival in Liyue)
The development of future versions is already proceeding apace. We will do our best to ensure that a version update will occur once every 6 weeks, with the update itself taking place on a Wednesday (specifics are dependent on circumstances). Every version update will come with its own themed activities.
Genshin Impact launched on September 28
and was compared with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild due to its similar art style and exploration theme. MiHoYo has seen 100M USD in profits in less than two weeks, the game is now available on PC, mobile devices, and PlayStation 4.
