Those with a keen eye, or fans of the company surely noticed that Nintendo is nowhere to be seen in the announcement of the festival. The company stated that after the cancellation of E3 2020, they would be hosting their own Direct streams, but it was recently known that, the company is struggling with the COVID-19 and the remote work policy, thus, Nintendo Direct has been delayed. Nintendo is invited by Keighley who says they’re “always welcome!”
Born due to the necessity of organizing an event, adapted to the challenges presented by COVID-19 and without the polemic ESA around, Summer Game Fest appears to had arrived to stay. Keighley insist that there will be many Summer Game Fest, suggesting that developers joined forces to make their vision of a better E3.
The new event will be all digital for this year, a “big season finale” is confirmed to be broadcasted on August 24, 2020 with Gamescom: one Night Live and the former E3 2020 Creative Directors iam8bit.
