Ghost of Tsuhima
was showcased in the recent State of Play presentation, fans were introduced in the most important features of the game, the combat system was perhaps the biggest selling point of the presentation, but fans wondered if the game was too easy. In a recent PlayStation podcast, Sucker Punch’s Director Nate Fox explains that the gameplay shows the way a very experienced player fights, he suggest that Jin Sakai, the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima is in fact very vulnerable to enemy attacks.
In the State of Play presentation, Sucker Punch said that samurai movies are the inspiration behind the game, players should be very precise and quick in order to defeat opponents. Just like in the movies, the one who takes the first move is the one who takes the greater risk.
“If you’ve ever seen a samurai movie you know what it’s like,” he continued. “These men cut each other down with a single stroke of their sword and to capture that samurai movie fight is different than a lot of other games because it means you can die very quickly and your enemies can too. And that took us a while to get right but we are very pleased with the results and we think it shows up well on the screen.”
