Ubisoft’s first big announcement in 2019 dedicated to Ghost Recon: Breakpoint just a few days ago and the game received its first story trailer along with an alpha gameplay footage to hype fans until the French company releases new information probably at E3 2019. New title to Ghost Recon series will be available in October for PS4, Xbox One and PC but again this question comes up that whether the PC version will be available on Steam or players are going to see another EGS exclusive. The answer for the first part is a loud “No”, while the second part gets “Yes + Ubisoft Store” as a response.
Just as we expected, Ubisoft continues its policy on signing exclusive contracts with Epic Games Store and with the decision going on for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and other upcoming popular titles, Steam will definitely lose great amount of sales in the near future which may put Valve in a tight spot and make the company to its revenue share policy with developers. Right now, Epic Games Store keeps 12% of revenues for itself, while the corresponding number for Steam is 30% that causes a big difference in a huge amount of sale.
Ubisoft started to release its title on EGS as of the launch of The Division 2 and the policy keeps running with Anno 1800 and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. While having Ubisoft as a great backer of EGS grants more confidence to Epic Games, they have also signed important contracts with publishers some famous publishers to gain the digital release rights for titles like Control, Outer Wilds and Borderlands 3.
