God of War 2 Might Be in Development Regarding the New Job Listing for Santa Monica

Winner of The Best Game at The Game Awards 2018 is going to get a sequel according to what Santa Monica Studios is hiring for right now. God of War 2 is going to hit next-gen platform of Sony.

Sweeping most of the available awards at any possible event, God of War can be surely named as the PS4’s biggest exclusive title so far. The vision that Cory Barlog and his team out behind the totally revived sequel of the series, guide to a whole new direction with tons of changes in settings, story and gameplay.

God of War was definitely the beginning of a new era for Kratos and his son, which based the ending of the game will be continued by Santa Monica in the future and fortunately, that future doesn’t seem to be far away from us. The new job listing for Santa Monica Studios confirms indirectly that the sequel for the journey of Kratos and Atreus is in the early stages of development.

If you take a look at available careers at Sony Santa Monica, there are plenty of empty positions in Programming, Art, Design and Tech Art teams that talented people could jump in and be part of the God of War creators, but one of the most wanted requirements for majority of these positions is having a good knowledge of last year’s God of War, along with a work experience with next-gen platforms.

Based on these two necessary requirements, it’s safe to say that God of War 2 is the next project for Barlog and his team and it will definitely hit PS5, but as a lunch title? I don’t think so.
