Sony and developer Santa Monica Studio have released the first “Shaping the Story” episode for the new Behind the Scenes video series for God of War Ragnarok. A new episode will be released every Tuesday across nine weeks, each breaking down and discussing every major aspect of the game, including its combat elements, story, score, and more. God of War Ragnarok recently went gold and is set to launch on November 9 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
Santa Monica Studio lead community manager Grace Orlady commented on the series on a PlayStation Blog post, saying:
“In the God of War Ragnarok Behind the Scenes series, we will be taking you to all Nine Realms—from Midgard to Asgard (and perhaps a pitstop along the way). With each episode, we hope to provide you not only a unique perspective on the years long endeavor of creating this title, but also bring you insights from many of the team members who have made this possible. Our first episode begins much like our story does, in Midgard, where we’ll be discussing the key narrative beats from the last game that will come back into play in God of War Ragnarok, as well as how our team approached taking on a sequel that will conclude the Norse saga.”

As the threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer, Kratos and Atreus find themselves choosing between the safety of their family and the safety of the realms…
