Telltale Games closed last year, causing their games to be delisted from websites like GOG. While not all of their games, it’s more of their important titles like The Walking Dead, Jurassic Park, and Monkey Island.
Well it looks like that the trend will continue as GOG is deciding to delist Telltale’s remaining titles on their catalog as the team announced this on their community discussion forum.
“Sadly, we need to inform you that, due to company’s closure, all the remaining Telltale titles will be delisted from our catalog on Monday, May 27, 10am UTC… For everyone who purchased any of said titles prior to delisting, the games will remain in their GOG library.”
They list that the remaining games are, “The Wolf Among Us, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Hector: Badge of Carnage, the Batman series, Sam & Max Series, Puzzle Agent series, Tales from the Borderlands, and Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People.”
This would make sense as Telltale has closed down and isn’t developing anything at the moment. Therefore the website is giving its customers the chance to buy these games before they delist them from the store’s catalog on May 27. This is such a shame and big surprise as these are still fairly popular series’ and seeing a large amount of games be removed is sad to see.
While it’s sad to see a large amount of games just disappear from one website’s platform, most of these games are definitely available on Steam at the very least. While Telltale’s games will be gone from GOG’s store, the legacy of Telltale will live on as the current series, Telltale’s the Walking Dead finished development with Skybound and will continue on with other projects.
If you don’t have any of Telltale’s games on your GOG library, you can pick them up now before their removal on the 27th.
