Google Stadia Getting Over 100 Games in 2021

Google Stadia

confirmed that over 100 games are coming to the cloud gaming platform in 2021. Google also confirmed the addition of nine new games for subscribers, including FIFA 21 on March 17.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition (Feb. 23), Shantae: Risky’s Revenge – Director’s Cut (Feb. 23), It came from space and ate our brains (Mar. 2), FIFA 21 (Mar. 17), Kaze and the Wild Masks (Mar. 26), Judgment (Apr. 23), Killer Queen Black, Street Power Football, and Hellpoint.

These games represent just a sampling of the more than 100 games that will be added to the Stadia store for our players in 2021 to share, experience, and play with friends.

In recent news, Google announced its plans to shut down first-party development studios and divert all resources on incentives for third-party developers. “Creating best-in-class games from the ground up takes many years and significant investment, and the cost is going up exponentially,” Google said in a blog post explaining the decision.

Given our focus on building on the proven technology of Stadia as well as deepening our business partnerships, we’ve decided that we will not be investing further in bringing exclusive content from our internal development team SG&E, beyond any near-term planned games.

We see an important opportunity to work with partners seeking a gaming solution all built on Stadia’s advanced technical infrastructure and platform tools. We believe this is the best path to building Stadia into a long-term, sustainable business that helps grow the industry.

Google Stadia

allows users to stream games in up to 4K resolution and offers a growing collection of free games that the user has access to while they are subscribed. Players can play online multiplayer without any additional costs.

Stadia is integrated with YouTube, and its “state share” feature allows players to launch a supported game from a save state shared by another player via permalink.
