, set to release on March 4, 2022, received a State of Play showcasing everything incoming players to the series might need to know about the upcoming racing game. The State of Play solely showcased Gran Turismo 7 and was hosted by series director Kazunori Yamauchi who is an accomplished racecar driver himself.
The trailer, like everything else showcased for the game, took some time to showcase the fresh graphics for the game that offer the near photo-realist quality of breathtaking tracks and beautiful cars both exterior and interior. They also showcased the Scapes photo mode, which allows you to take high-quality pictures of all that gorgeousness.
The trailer also gave us a better look at the hub map that will house the classic campaign. On top of that, a better look at the Gran Turismo Cafe was given, a new mode that had only been briefly showcased up to this point. In it, players will get a car menu that they can complete while playing the rest of the game. There will also be a museum featured in the game that offers a deep look at the history of the car manufacturers the game offers, showing off a little of Porsche‘s history.
Arguably the best feature showcased was the weather dynamics featured in the game. Players will get a weather radar that will help them see if a storm is coming, able to see clouds move and form in real-time thanks to the use of meteorology data collected by the team at Polyphony. These patterns are tied to your location in the world with weather and stars presented accurately to Japanese weather if you are there, or California if you are racing there.
There was just way too much info presented during the Showcase to go over it all here, so it is definitely recommended you go watch it yourself and take it all in. Gran Turismo 7 will be racing its way on to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on March 4, 2022.
