Cygames and acclaimed fighting developer veterans Arc System Works have officially announced the Japanese release date for the upcoming Granblue Fantasy: Versus. While the release date only pertains to the Japanese release, there’s also news that both Xseed Games and Marvelous are planning to release the game in both North America and Europe, respectively.
Check out the latest trailer for the upcoming fighting game below:
The new trailer also reveals a new feature hitting the game called “RPG Mode”. Players who engage in this mode will be able to play through the story of Granblue Fantasy: Versus as if it were a 2D side-scrolling action-RPG title. It’s interesting to see Arc System work this new mode into the fighting realm – in my opinion, a genre that needs features such as this for an exciting resurgence in the genre.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus is set to release on February 6, 2020 on the PS4 in Japan. While there’s no official release date set for the western launch, the game is expected to hit both North America and Europe.
