Speculation around Rockstar Games’ upcoming titles are getting more and more these days, from talking about the announcement of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC on April 22nd to the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 as a timed-exclusive launch title for PS5. Although both rumors should’ve been taken with a grain of salt, now there is a more reliable rumor that makes us to believe that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been under development at least for two years.
According to a resume page, which belongs to Bibin Michael, 3D Game Artist, he had been working on GTA V and GTA 6 from December 2017 to April 2018, apparently before the release of Red Dead Redemption 2. The rumor gets even more serious, when we know that Michael has been part of the studio in development of RDR 2, as you can see his name in the credits of the game. Although still nothing has been officially confirmed, this leak seems more reliable, as if the studio has picked up a small group of developers to work on Grand Theft Auto 6, while the main team was developing RDR 2. There is no doubt that GTA VI will be developed for the next generation of consoles, but if we get a trustworthy piece of news on when the studio has begun the development process, it would be easier to guess a release window for the game. Here you can see the images for Bibin Michael being in development process of both GTA 6 and RDR 2 (Screenshots provided by DSOGaming).
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be the sequel for one of the revolutionary titles of Rockstar Games during last generation and its really interesting to see what new ideas the studio is going to put behind the upcoming open-world game, with the rumors pointing to the location of GTA VI being somewhere out of US.
