Kotaku’s Jason Schreier has today posted an investigation article about the crunch culture at Rockstar Games, the reporter claims that the next Grand Theft Auto game is currently on development, he also says that Rockstar has opted for a different approach in the next installment of GTA, the game would release on a smaller scale and would later be expanded through DLC.
One plan that management has laid out for the next game, a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, is to start out with a moderately sized release (which, by Rockstar’s standards, would still be a large game) that is then expanded with regular updates over time, which may help mitigate stress and crunch” … ” Rockstar’s next big project is still early in development.”
2020 has seen plenty of Gran Theft Auto VI rumors, fans are expecting an announcements as the timing seem perfect, the launch of a new generation of consoles, and a game, Grand Theft Auto V, who is becoming outdated already. A large rumor a of GTAVI appeared on Reddit back in early 2020. The allegedly information suggest that the worldmap of the next installment will be huge, Rockstar would include three states and two major cities, Carcer City (Based on Boston and the East Coast of USA) and Vice City (Miami, Florida). An abundance of towns, waterfronts, and suburbs are expected to be present.
Contradicting the rumors, the research firm Jeffries hosted an expert call with Darion Lowenstein, a experienced developer who worked at Activision, Scopely, Electronic Arts and Rockstar. Lowenstein’s opinion about Rockstar’s strategy contradicts what Schreier suggest. Lowenstein said that the Houser brothers are trying to deliver the best quality and are in fact, not bothered by a deadline.
Rockstar Games suggested the begging of a new project, the company appealed to Video Games Tax Relief with HMRC. Considering this fact, together with Schreier reports and Lowenstein analysis, we might not hear about Grand Theft Auto VI for a long time.
