Certainly, to affirm that this raw image is in fact the leaked image for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI is a statement of the hype from fans and how good the Rockstar team is from keeping the development of some of its games away from the press, being that said let’s analyze the image that went viral in the past days.
Some users affirm that even if the map is an island, the topography is similar to the real-world city, Miami, this points to the rumor that Rockstar is coming back to Vice City for the next installment of GTA, however, as reported by Dexerto, this leaked image comes from a previous rumor that is from 2018.
The original rumor from 2018 affirms that the island was just one area of several others in the whole game, this rumor, as crazy as it might sound to fans of the franchise could have some veracity in its claims.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has confirmed the development of Grand Theft Auto VI through data spilled from Rockstar Games’ insiders. Schreier was told that Rockstar chose a different strategy for the development of the upcoming game, Rockstar could release a game on a much smaller scale compared to Grand Theft Auto V, the game would later be extended through DLC, it’s possible that islands are being planned to be added as expansions for the game.
2020 has seen plenty of GTA rumors, starting with an elaborated rumor that suggests that the world map of GTA VI will be huge, Rockstar would include three states and two major cities, Carcer City (Based on Boston and the East Coast of USA) and Vice City (Miami, Florida). An abundance of towns, waterfronts, and suburbs are expected to be present. The user also claims that the story will be centered in the 1980s before it skips to the present, a change of protagonist is expected to take place during the change in eras. Weapons will have a much more realistic feel compared to Grand Theft Auto V.
Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the development of the game, however, official information indicates that a next-gen game is being produced right now.
