GRID —
the racing video game developed and published by Codemasters for Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One — will bring races to Paris in Season One starting December 4, 2019.
Season One adds the “Hot Hatch Showdown,” which implements more “variety and unpredictability.” In addition, the new season introduces four new cars and over 30 career events. Season One content will be available to all players who own GRID Ultimate Edition while those who own the Standard or Day One editions can purchase Season One separately on any of the aforementioned platforms’ digital store.
The Hot Hatch Showdown adds four “legendary hatchbacks” to GRID: the MINI Hatch JCW, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Super Hatch, Renault Clio S1600, and the AUDI S1 quattro Concept. All the new hatchbacks are usable in Career, Free Play, and Multiplayer. “For GRID players without Ultimate Edition, the Renault s1600 is available in Free Play and Multiplayer events as a loan car.”
The Career mode in GRID will also have 33 additional Career events. Ultimate Edition players can “head to the Career menu and switch to the new tab to find two brand new Career threads — one featuring the new Season One cars, the other using the existing car roster.”
Furthermore, Codemasters is “adding to GRID’s list of circuits with the return of a series favourite, available for free to all players. Race around the Arc de Triomphe, underneath the Eiffel Tower and Get Your Heart Racing through the streets of Paris.” Each of the three different routes has a reverse option and can be raced in daytime, at night, in the rain, and at dusk or dawn.
Codemasters also released a new trailer to showcase Season One.
