GTA: The Trilogy Pulled From Sale On PC Seemingly Due To Rockstar Launcher Issues

Rockstar has pulled GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition from sale on the PC marketplace seemingly due to ongoing issues concerning the Rockstar Launcher. This issue has seen would-be crime guys purchasing the game through the Rockstar Launcher, finding that the game is unplayable due to the Launcher being down.

At the time of writing this, the PC version of the game has been removed from the Rockstar website. Those that have been able to purchase will find that the collection is unplayable due to the Rockstar Launcher being down for roughly 15 hours.

A few hours after the release of the collection, Rockstar’s support Twitter account stated  “Services for the Rockstar Games Launcher and supported titles are temporarily offline for maintenance. Services will return as soon as the maintenance is completed.” This does not just affect the GTA remasters, as games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto V are also affected and unplayable with the launcher down.

After the Rockstar Launcher was down far longer than expected, the same Twitter account posted another tweet saying “We thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work on restoring services for the Rockstar Games Launcher and supported titles.”

There has yet to be an official word from Rockstar on how long players can expect the launcher to be down, or if these two instances are related, though they do seem to be. Naturally, the fan response to this turn of events has not been positive. Since all three games are single-player experiences, the fact that you cannot access them without the use of the launcher connecting to the service is problematic. One can only hope that whatever issues the service is having are rectified soon.
