recently go a chance to adapt Marvel’s Avengers into a game. With all Live Service games it is hard to actually its success or failure from a single year, but so far it has been a rocky road. Despite that Square Enix and Marvel might being moving forward with their proposed partnership with a new game. This time an adaptation of another popular super hero team, the Guardians of The Galaxy.
While the GoTG have appeared in comics since 1969 they remained relatively unknown compared to the likes of Iron Man and Captain America. This all changed in 2014 when the wildly popular MCU film based on the 2008 team rocket raccooned them to stardom.

According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, Square Enix is not just work on another Marvel game, they are working specifically Guardians of The Galaxy. To quote him directly, He stated on his most recent podcast “That’s real. Guardians of the Galaxy, Square Enix, another Marvel game”. He continued by stating “I hope they show it at E3 because I wanna see what people think of it”.
Outside of it’s existence he did not divulge more information. Since he was confident of it’s existence this could mean that he knows more but as of right now we are left only with speculation.
Recently Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind Marvel’s Avengers, recently announced that they were hiring for a new AAA game. The plan was to move most of the studio onto the new project, while leaving a small dedicated team to continue their work on Avengers. It is possible that this new game is indeed Guardians of The Galaxy.
During a sales meeting in which Marvel’s Avengers was present, the company posted a 63 million dollar lose. It is important however, to note, that those figures were not based solely on the Avengers game and were based on quarterly reports.
