A new event has been organized for this summer, the all digital game festival is called Guerrilla Collective and will be hosted by Greg Miller, Media Indie Exchange (The Mix) will be the Producers. This event will take place outside the Summer Game Fest format and will go live from June 6 through June 8.
According to the organizers, the festival will feature ” fresh announcements, trailers and reveals from some of the hottest publishers and developers around the world”
Mostly integrated by indie developers, some prominent studios will be present, being the case of Larian Studios and Paradox Interactive. The organization is currently taking applications from studios and publishers, applicants will have until May 15 to do so.
Is uncertain the reason behind Guerrilla Collective did not decided to join Summer Game Fest, as Geoff Keighley’s event is the real replacement of E3. Xbox 20/20, the PlayStation 5 reveal, The Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition are confirmed to be part of the new event.
Developers are still adapting to the new conditions enforced by COVID-19, Nintendo has reportedly cancelled their upcoming Nintendo Direct streams, is unknown if that’s the reason why the Japanese tech giant did not replied to Keighley’s proposal to join Summer Game Fest.
