Developer Bandai Namco Online has announced that the free-to-play multiplayer Gundam FPS Gundam Evolution will permanently end service on November 29. The game’s executive producer states “it is no longer possible for us to provide a service that satisfies our players.” Gundam Evolution first launched on September 21, 2022, which means the game will be a little over a year old when it shuts down. The game will continue receiving updates with Season 6 on August 23, adding more units and maps, and the final season on October 25 which will add another unit and a final map. For now, Gundam Evolution is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One PC via Steam.
Executive producer Kazuya Maruyama’s full statement regarding the news:
“It is with great sadness that we are announcing the conclusion of Gundam Evolution. We wanted to create a title that brought first-person shooter fans and Gundam fans together. We challenged ourselves to create an authentic Gundam first-person shooter game that could be played globally. Unfortunately, we have determined that it is no longer possible for us to provide a service that satisfies our players.”
