Halo Infinite Gets Campaign Overview

Xbox

and 343 Industries have posted a new video giving players a look at the upcoming campaign featured in Halo Infinite. This is the first real look we have gotten at the mode since it was last showcased in 2020, during a demo that was poorly received due to the unpolished state of the presentation. This lead to the game getting delayed with much of the focus this year being on the game’s multiplayer.

Like most games in the series, Halo Infinite will have players assume the role of Spartan-117, also known as Master Chief, as the fight against the covenant using every gun at their disposal. This time the plot will see Master Chief travel to the Zeta Halo, now controlled by The Banished, a splinter cell rebelling again the Covenant Empire.

The graphics have definitely improved since we had seen the game, with much of the gameplay showcased remaining the same. The game will focus on a larger, more open-area setup the will encourage the player to explore. To this end, the trailer showcases a large map the player can use to look through targets, as well as outposts scattered around the world that can be attacked and destroyed. Several of these locations will have named bosses which different move sets than normal enemies that Master Chief will have to take down.

There will also be places where the player can call in vehicles, which look like they will come in handy given the scope of the world this time around. Other tools to help Master Chief get around, and control the flow of combat, including his thrusters and his grappling hook. Both of these will also be upgradable along his journey, along with several other abilities.

Overall it looks to retain several of the series staples while overhauling the series with modern gaming elements. It should be interesting to see once the title launches on December 8, 2021, for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC.
